MUST READ: BEING A NEW STUDENT OF UDUSOK

By now I am sure everybody offered admission into udusok is either done with the basics (Collecting confirmation and all) or about to start and I hope and wish all of us a smooth registration exercise.

That said, some of us again are waiting patiently for the emergence of the so called “second list” which I don’t think is coming out at all. Why?! Because the previous list isn’t named THE FIRST LIST which strongly suggest that there won’t be second. Another reason why I don’t think a second list is anything worth waiting for is that out a scale of 10 people that applied for admission into udusok and met the minimum requirement of the college, 7 were given admission so we can only assume that the 3 not offered were ‘A COLLATERAL DAMAGE’ or were found not suitable (in other word, failed to meet up with the requirements) or even worse, no more available slots. Did I also mention that udusok only considered those who chose it as first choice?! So if you know you choose udusok as second, third, fourth or whatever other than first choice then I advise you dry your hopes of getting into the most peaceful university this year. Having said that, what I think those type of people should do is:

(1) Look for other universities that are yet to complete their admission processes and pray they get it, don’t forget to apply for change of course( if your jamb score doesn’t meet that of the course you chose) or institution as of the case of changing from udusok to another university.

(2) JAMB 2017 form is out on sale, so if you are not sure of anything, consider buying it now before it’s too late.

(3) If you love udusok so much like I do, then there is one more alternative which is to go for the one year matriculation program, hurry now and go to the matriculation campus, just near udusok city campus in sokoto city, sokoto to find out if the form is still on sale. If it’s, I think the price goes for N5, 000.
Other than the alternatives I mentioned above, I don’t think there are any other than to either go for polytechnics or colleges of education.

Now to those waiting for change of course: If you are given admission and you don’t like the course you were given then you have to go for change of course but here are what you need to know about change of course in udusok:

The price as of last year was N20, 000 and it may be the same this year or it likely increase, let’s wait and see when the form is out on sale.

(1) Did I mention the form isn’t yet out on sale?! Yeah that’s right… You have to wait for now before it’s out.

(2) Before applying for change of course, make sure the course you are changing is compatible by margin with your jamb score. for example if you want change to pharmacy which is 230, make sure your jamb score is at least as 235 to 240 above for better chances .

(3) Check your jamb subject combination for example: Even if I scored 260 on jamb and I want to change to computer science when my jamb subjects are English, biology, chemistry and physics. It won’t work because computer needs mathematics on jamb NOT physics. So be careful.

(4) Finally, even if everything is correct and good. There is no assurance that your change of course application will be accepted because according to a statement from a hidden source in udusok : “Change of course is a PREVILEGE not a RIGHT” so just pray and hope your N20, 000 doesn’t go to out to dry.

(5) Final finally (lol), I strongly advise you to reconsider again before applying for it. NB: The paragraph below is religiously related to Islam and Christianity…
“ALLAH(Islam) or Jesus( if you are a Christian) is the ONE who chose and destined that course to be offered to you, be thankful to HIM and HE WILL bless you in your future endeavors, reject his blessings and I am telling even if you got medicine( which some considers to be the most goodest heheh course out there) then you won’t enjoy it, you might as well get shot or die or whatever before graduation, I am not scaring you or discouraging you to go for medicine or change to any other course of your liking, I am merely a fancy keyboard addict who feels the need to remind you the POWER OF GOD”. Shikenan.

Now to the happy folks who were given the course they like and have already collected confirmation, I want you all to know that this is only the beginning, udusok is a tough one which means you’ll experience all hardships you can or cannot even imagine but in time you come to love it and even enjoy it.

Being one of the top universities in Nigeria academically, there is no time to play considering the time factor that we are in due to the unfortunate delay in releasing the admission. So start reading right away and get rid of all distractions (Except TV, social media, phones, PlayStation, Xbox) and concentrate on your book because this is the long haul you’ve been hearing about before you got admitted.

The dress code is serious, it can get your admission withdrawn easily, and nothing much to say about this other than be modest of how you dress.

If you are thinking of swimming pools, rap groups, parties everywhere then udusok is not for you because the only party here is the one where you read your books until you are bored as hell and then just when you are about to sleep, you see the sun ( It’s a brand new day).

If you are coming from outside sokoto like my friend Ibrahim from kwara state, then I have some few recommendations:

(1) Apply for hostel as soon as possible if you don’t want to be with neighbors that play louder than loud music in the middle of the night.

(2) Avoid walking alone in the dark in sokoto, thugs are real and they won’t think twice before stabbing you in the front. Lol

(3) Beware of the beautiful sokoto girls, they are so beautiful that they can make you forget your own name, with sweet little voices, long pointed noses… They can turn you from a first class aspirant to last class aspirant. Don’t fall for their traps, No offense to Maryam from my matric class.

Oh my GOD, I just realized I’ve been typing for 17 minutes so I am going to stop here for now.
